There’s no clear formula, or single answer for the minimum amount of content a page should have. Some sources suggest having at least 600-700 words of content on every page. Many marketers are so focused on building out site hierarchy, wireframing and design of the site that they lose site of content development. SEO is a huge part of content development, but when content becomes an afterthought during web redesign, and the focus is on getting the new site live ASAP, often times marketers will put the content together without deliberate thought to keyword inclusion and smart SEO content strategies. Use your website to communicate your value proposition and your general marketing messages (known as “high-level messages”). If there is one page which should be optimized for generic keywords, it is your homepage. Create and submit sitemaps for each country in Google Webmaster Tools. This is only necessary if you’re using subdirectories for each of your locale sites, but it is very important that Google indexes and understands all the pages on your site. The best way to do this is to submit a sitemap for each country or region you are targeting.

Be persistent

To achieve and maintain good placements on result pages (SERPs) over the long term, you should follow the search engine’s guidelines and focus on your target visitors (this approach is called “White Hat SEO”). Google and other search engines very quickly identify non-permitted, manipulative techniques and your website could be penalized. Imagine visiting an online shop, and receiving a notification from your browser that this site is not secure. You’re probably not so eager to buy something there and provide this website with private or sensitive information. When content is optimized for SEO before it goes live on the web, it will be prepared for searchers and rank higher on the SERP from the moment of publication. If you want to get loads of quality traffic to your website you have to work a lot or invest a lot.

Avoid paid links that do not use the rel=nofollow attribute

Understanding what your customers and users want to learn and know is exactly how you should be developing your SEO strategy. Rankings matter. But they’re not the metric you should be focusing on. Getting your website indexed is the only way that Internet marketing can be successful. It’s the entire starting point. Without indexation, you’re doomed. Listings with many photos, hours and a lot of information about the business tend to get better rankings than other listings.

Start simple, but don’t skip this step.

If you have several versions of your site in different languages, add visual cues linking to your multilingual content in or near your top navigation. For example, you can use flag icons to link to each country or language’s site. Apple even has a page that lists all the countries for which they provide a website version. Google prefers secure websites. Most web hosts offer inexpensive ways to add SSL to your website. You can also get an SSL certificate for free. There are many online directories that provide no real value to the Internet users and Google has excluded them from its search results. You don’t want your website to be listed on such pages. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant : "The page title and URL are two of only a small number of elements that are present for a user to view within the search engine results page. It’s fair to say that they have a huge impact on click-through rate from the SERPs."

Be mindful of structure

Understanding SEO is crucial to significantly increasing your traffic and brand awareness. Because they’re so often avoided by using them you can access potential customers you would otherwise never attract. So if you want to build an effective SEO strategy make sure you research long tail keywords carefully. If your site is littered with lengthy, indecipherable URLs that don’t align well with the actual content of your site pages, restructuring your URLs should definitely be a priority during your next website redesign. Wondering where SEO comes into play here? While just like the searchers themselves, search engines prefer URLs that make it easy to understand what your page content is all about. High-speed keyword research is keyword research that’s focused on quickly assessing which words are most viable to optimize website texts for. Without doing proper keyword research, your content SEO strategy could well be completely worthless.
