A common tactic is creating dozens, if not hundreds of short backlink-containing articles, which are then placed in blogs and websites that have been created for the express purpose of SEO. The number and quality of links pointing to your site will largely determine in what position your site ranks. Think of a sitemap as a list of files that give hints to the search engines on how they can crawl your website. Sitemaps help search engines find and classify content on your site that they may not have found on their own. Search Engine Optimisation is the process of designing web pages, writing content and building a network of links back to your website in order to rank at the top of a google search results page. The goal is to bring your page in front of your target market. This kind of search traffic is known as 'organic' and it is the most desirable google traffic because it's FREE! (well unless you are paying a blog content writer!)
Grant crawlers permission to index the content on pages
Authority is created over time. It can't be rushed. You need to migrate
your website from one host to another, or one platform to another, even to a fresh domain. Website migrations are one of the most complicated aspects of any SEO campaign. Mobile devices have obviously exploded and Google has emphasized the optimizing websites for mobile users. By 2015 mobile search queries surpassed desktop ones – a seismic event in the evolution of search that can not be overstated in terms of significance. Optimizing for mobile devices is now nothing less than required. Its mobile-friendly ranking update came in two significant roll outs to date. Search engines use alt text to identify the content of a page, since bots can only read text. Adding alt text to images lets search engines understand what the image is so they can include it in relevant searches.
Search engine penalties are much rarer than people think
The Google-led open source project AMP, or Accelerated Mobile Pages, has one goal: loading your pages as fast as possible The newest result isn’t
always best – for less newsworthy topics, an in-depth and authoritative result that’s been around longer may outrank newer, thinner content. Analyzing content alone is not real SEO. Making a deliverable look pretty for a client is not SEO. Strategically written website copy includes well-thought-out internal links and calls to action.
Do not optimise for irrelevant keyword searches.
Keywords must be used at least three to four times in the page text. The upper limit depends on the overall page size – the larger the page, the more keyword repetitions can be made. Keyword phrases (word combinations consisting of several keywords) are worth a separate mention. The best seo results are observed when a keyword phrase is used several times in the text with all keywords in the phrase arranged in exactly the same order. If you get too far into the SEO rabbit hole you’ll start stumbling upon spammy ways to attempt to speed up this process. Automated software like RankerX, GSA SER, and Scrapebox, instructions to create spam or spin content, linkwheels, PBNs, hacking domains, etc. When writing your content, be realistic about the chances of that content to rank. If you are in a highly competitive market, content works very well as a marketing tool and/or as input for social media. But it will probably not get you that number one spot in Google, and that’s fine. Manage your expectations. Gaz Hall
, an SEO Expert from the UK, said: "There have been many minor changes to the layout of Search Engine Results Pages. Local and more location-specific searches have become more commonplace — especially on mobile devices."
Becoming an SEO thought leader
The thing is, in addition to Link Building and creating pathways to popular, informative parts of the Internet, you also need to build Back Links for Search Engine Optimization purposes. These are links going back to your website from outside websites; very similar to links going outward from your website, but not quite the same. There is no single
place to focus when trying to optimize a website for search engines, so it is important to make updates and upgrades to various parts of a website at regular intervals, not spending too much time or effort on any particular aspect of the website while other features get ignored or underserved. Sites that aren’t optimized for user intent and mobile SEO will fail. Build links as if Google didn’t even exist – links that will bring you customers in addition to rankings.
