If you want your content to stand out from the glut of online content and attract the kind of shares and links that boost search rankings, you’ve got to create epic content or “10X Content”. Most of the content that ranks in the top 10 of Google is over 2000 words in length, so you need to create long-form content. Most companies use SEO to increase website traffic, which in turn, increases revenue. Search engine optimization affects only organic search results, not
paid or "sponsored" results such as Google AdWords. Trends adjusts search data to make comparisons between terms easier. Each data point is divided by the total searches of the geography and time range it represents, to compare relative popularity.
Have your pages rank for the right meanings and the right contexts
Your website won’t be found if people have to search too hard for it. “Ranking” for specific keywords relating to your industry and services is the first step in this process. When customers see their searched-for terms in your title and meta description, they will be more likely to click it. An authority website is a site that is trusted. It’s trusted by its users, trusted by industry experts, trusted by other websites and trusted by search engines. Somebody already wrote something about you. They mentioned your brand or product, but they have not linked to your website. In situations like these, it is usually enough to contact the webmaster and ask him to convert that mention into a backlink. Intrigue your audience to stick around
Many marketers are so focused on building out site hierarchy,
wireframing and design of the site that they lose site of content
development. SEO is a huge part of content development, but
when content becomes an afterthought during web redesign,
and the focus is on getting the new site live ASAP, often times
marketers will put the content together without deliberate thought
to keyword inclusion and smart SEO content strategies. Links have always been a valuable aspect of an SEOs strategy, and many SEO agencies focus on building relevant links to get first page search results on Google. If anyone guarantees you page 1 ranking on Google within a three-month timespan, run for the hills. A key lesson to apply to pretty much every aspect of SEO, is not to get carried away when you find ideas that work. For example, just because quality is key, that doesn’t mean that you need to disavow every low quality link and only ever build links from the top sites.
No-follow all backlinks
Each algorithm change brings the search engine closer to its intended purpose. It’s getting harder and harder to “game the system” with exploitive linkbuilding strategies and blackhat SEO. People either go to Google to find something quickly, or they go there to find something they can trust. For speed, they’ll be happy with paid ads. For confidence in quality, they’ll opt for organic search results. Pretty simple, right? Thin content is the idea that there’s not much actual text on an ecommerce site compared to, say, a blog or software site. Imagine dozens and dozens of thin content pages created because of random product attribute and product filter pages. Some of those pages might only list one or two products. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull, had the following to say: "Your online competitors may not be who you think! By taking a broad look at your sector from an online perspective will help uncover potential opportunities that you are missing out on. "
Putting it All Together
Now's the time for any local business to raise its game. In order to get the most success with search engines, you need to speak their language. They don’t care how pretty your site is or how much blood, sweat, and tears went into creating it. Sad but true. However, they do care about the keywords you use on your web pages so make sure you use them properly. Weave them throughout the text in a natural way and use variations just to cover the entire basis. Short paragraphs: Write short paragraphs, preferably 3-4 sentences at most. Breaking down your content into short paragraphs makes it more digestible for your readers. The higher the organic search traffic the better, as more traffic means more people reading your blog post. A guest post on a website with traffic is similar to being featured in a newspaper, the larger the newspaper the more people will hear about what you have to say.
